Troy Miller studied music at the Guildhall School of music in London where he is now a visiting professor. From 2004 to present, Troy toured and recorded with American Vibes Legend Roy Ayers which has taken him to nearly every continent. Through Troy’s association with Roy, this lead on to tours with the late Don Blackman, Michael Urbaniak, Tom Browne and Ronnie Laws.
From 2004-2006, Troy work extensively with Soul artists Roachford and Jocelyn Brown and in 2007 joined with Amy Winehouse and Producer Mark Ronson which included performances at the Grammys and Brits in 2008 as well as many other major festivals around Europe. In 2010, Troy played on the Platinum selling Record from Rumer, and more recently played on the critically acclaimed album ‘Sing to the Moon’ by Laura Mvula. He is now Laura’s Musical Director and has produced music with her including ‘Little Girl Blue’ which featured on the album for movie ‘12 years a Slave’. Troy also vocal produced Laura on her recent feature ‘Heroes’ with Tinie Tempah and has produced the Critical acclaimed Orchestral album ‘Sing to The Moon’ at Abbey Road feat. the metropole orkest.
In 2013 Troy Produced an album for Jason Rebello (Sting, Jeff Beck) featuring Pino Palladinoand British Soul Singer Omar. He also worked on John Newman’s record ‘Tribute’ which has sold over 1.3 million copies in the UK to date and also played drums on Cee Lo Green’s new record produced by Mark Ronson which has yet to be released. As well as producing 2 successful Albums for Sony Poland for artist Mika Urbaniak which won a ‘Frederic’ awards for Best Pop Album and went Gold, Troy has also written and produced the theme music for ‘Don’t Stop Believing’ for Channel 5 presented by Emma Bunton the album for Rebecca Ferguson ‘Lady Sings The Blues’. Hi work includes the single ‘Water Under Bridges’ for the Grammy award winner Gregory Porter’s Delux album….‘Liquid Spirit’. Troy produced Becca Stevens’ Regina, released 24th march 2017 and is working on Jamie Cullum’s new release on Island Records.

Troy has a solo album ‘40 Days’ was released in June 2006 under J’Noir Records and features veteran UK and US musicians Jean Toussaint, Jason Rebello, Eric Revis and Marcus Printup as well as long standing partners, Soweto Kinch, Michael Olatuja, Femi Temowo and Karim Merchant. The Album also features the Prague Philharmonic strings. Recorded in Brooklyn, New York, this stunning album fuses a blend of Jazz, Gospel and music from the Streets - now available on itunes and Amazon.
As well as being a visiting professor at The Guildhall School Of Music and Drama in London, Troy has given masterclasses and clinics at other institutions around the UK including Tech Schools, Trinity college of music, Bimm and the Royal Academy of Music, London. He has had featured interviews with Modern Drummer, Drummer Magazine, Jazzwise and Rhythm Magazine and he endorses Yamaha, Sabian, Pro-Mark and Evans.
