The Struts

The Struts announce August UK dates

British rock band The Struts, who are making huge waves across America, play a sold-out, intimate headline show at The Lexington, London this week, ahead of their slot at this year’s Reading & Leeds Festival on the NME/Radio 1 stage. A hugely exciting, gloriously ambitious blast of maximum rock ‘n roll, the four-piece from Derby are currently sitting at # 7 in the Billboard Modern Rock Chart and #8 in the Billboard Alternative Songs chart with hit single ‘Could Have Been Me’. It’s now had over 2 million plays on Spotify, hitting #1 on their Viral chart.

The Struts performed ‘Could Have Been Me’ live last week on Jimmy Kimmel and have just launched their brand new video, which was directed by the legendary Jonas Åkerlund. Filmed in the hotel rooms, black cabs and streets of London, it features the band giving an outlandishly colourful performance on top of a boat sailing down the Thames.

Led by the charismatic, precocious and outspoken frontman, Luke Spiller, The Struts are a riotously exciting live band, full of vaudevillian onstage theatrics and peerless musicianship. Spiller is the unashamed upstart heir to Freddie Mercury and Mick Jagger coupled with the added edge of Bobby Gillespie and the eccentric flair of Noel Fielding, while his bandmates (Adam Slack, Jed Elliot and Gethin Davies) deliver the kind of flamboyant songs that have seen the band build up a fervent British fanbase alongside their new-found American fame.

Having now signed with Interscope in the USA, The Struts have just embarked on a major headline tour across America which is rapidly being upgraded to bigger and bigger venues, with more dates being added by the day. They band kicked off the tour at the House of Blues in San Diego and will play at Lincoln Hall in Chicago, Rock and Roll Hotel in Washington DC, Bowery Ballroom in New York City (which quickly sold out) and The Troubadour in Los Angeles among many others.

A knowingly self-aware blast of insolent glam decadence, opinionated self-belief and devil-may-care attitude, The Struts are flying back to Britain… and need no permission to land!

They return to their native Britain next year in support of the release of ‘Could Have Been Me’ and their debut album Everybody Wants, which will come through Polydor.
