Mother Mother

Globally successful alt-rock phenomenon Mother Mother celebrate their 20th anniversary with the release of their 10th studio album, Nostalgia. This 12-track album reveals a sonic palette that calls back to their earlier works, while simultaneously pushing further into the stellar regions of melodic rock and glam-pop; they fearlessly charge forth into often lyrically and emotionally uncomfortable terrain.

Comprised of Ryan Guldemond (vocals, guitar), Molly Guldemond (vocals, keys), Jasmin Parkin (vocals, keys), Ali Siadat (drums) and Mike Young (bass), Mother Mother have achieved something few acts get the chance to: freedom in creativity, resulting in a record that feels both true to their legacy and gesturing towards the decades that lay ahead.

Within the past four years alone, Mother Mother have catapulted into a new stratosphere of universal success, purely based on intelligent, melodic songcraft and an extremely loyal fanbase who have created a unique global community; a safe space where the so-called outcasts, misfits and uninvited are proudly empowered and celebrated. The band’s music is a conversation with their fans, and a reflection of life’s shared challenges. Mother Mother is successful despite typical industry channels, rather than because of them.

For reasons unknown, their 2008 fan-favourite single ‘Hayloft’ (from O My Heart) was resurrected by fans just as the pandemic lockdown hit and burst into a supernova of social posts, which spawned a purely organic TikTok revolution and led the track to become certified Platinum in the US. Demand from fans sparked a reprised continuation of the song's harrowing narrative, resulting in the Gold-certified ‘Hayloft II’, which debuted in the Top 10 of Spotify's Global Top Songs Debut chart and has surpassed 1.2 billion global streams and 830 million YouTube views. Their 2021 album Inside garnered in excess of 1.5 billion global streams alone. Following a successful European stadium tour with Imagine Dragons and a string of festival shows, Mother Mother documented the tour with a live EP Live from Santiago de Compostela (2022) and followed with their 9th album Grief Chapter (2024).

Since then, the quintet has relentlessly toured the world, playing festivals and headlining prestigious venues including London’s Brixton Academy and Red Rocks in Denver. Their ambitious career has produced 10 studio albums, four live albums, 35 singles and videos and a pair of EPs, plus triumphant live appearances on The Late Late Show with James Corden and Rolling Stone, media accolades that include: Rolling Stone, Billboard, Q Magazine, ABC, Spin, NME, Pitchfork, Paste, CBS, and many more. To date, the band has amassed 10.7 billion global streams across their bursting catalogue and garnered 5.2 million followers across social platforms.

The Vancouver, BC-based collective will release their most adventurous work to date, Nostalgia (2025) and bring their powerful live show around the world and continue to amass their joyous warrior legion with love and positivity. As Mother Mother’s Ryan Guldemond proclaims, “We aimed to capture that energy—the childlike, naive, innocent creativity that can be difficult to grasp when you've grown older and accumulated so much knowledge...a sense of... nostalgia. the decisions we made from the right place accumulated to create something we love and are proud of—and we truly are.”
