Astræa reveals stunning live performance video of 'Scars'

The track is the latest to be taken from her upcoming new EP Looking Up, set for release on October 8th.

Boasting simply a piano, delicately layered strings and lone vocal, ‘Scars’ is a devastatingly emotional track that details a personal journey; a tale told over many years that sees pain and anguish blossom into empowering strength. The live performance video sees Astræa’s vulnerability laid bare with nowhere to hide, the stunning space capturing and amplifying every shred of sincerity embedded within the track and providing a stark reminder of the emotional rush of witnessing a live performance.

Speaking on the performance video, Astræa says, Bringing Scars to life with a string quartet at the beautiful Craxton Studios was an incredible experience. Craxton is an amazing space to create music and the vintage Blüthner grand piano was a dream to play! After not being able to perform with other musicians for so long due to the pandemic, it felt truly special to be able to share music again.”

Astræa has also revealed that she’ll be making her return to the stage this year, performing a very special headline show at Servants Jazz Quarters in Dalston, London. Taking place on October 14th, the gig will serve as her first opportunity to perform material from her new EP to a live audience. Tickets are available here.

‘Scars’ follows the release of recent single ‘Looking Up’, a gorgeous and elating reminder that better days are just around the corner which was accompanied by a music video filmed along the scenic Scottish coast and a stunning live performance video. Both new songs provide a tantalising taste of the Looking Up EP, which sees Astræa continue to both share and evolve her creative vision.
