To mark the announcement Libby has released her new song ‘Rewind’, taken from the EP. ‘Rewind’ finds the Brighton singer on a garage tip as she reflects on fond love memories.
Regarding the new single Libby says, “‘Rewind’ is quite different to anything I’ve released so far, it has more of a garage vibe to it which I LOVE. I had so much fun writing this with my producer Chris Priest. It’s taken from my debut EP Feels, which I’m so excited for everyone to hear.”
Continuing about the forthcoming EP she says, “I had a great time writing and recording the EP. I think it does a really good job of representing each genre of music I love to write, sing and listen to! I’m so excited to get this out, I’ve already got ideas for new music and have started working on more things for 2019!”
‘Rewind’ follows the release of her last single ‘New Boy’, which opens the Feels EP with its sharp and sassy empowerment pop reminiscent of Dua Lipa, Mabel and Stefflon Don. The video proves she’s not only got the voice of a star, but the popping dance moves to match.
Elsewhere on the Feels EP there’s the soaring pop anthem ‘I Know What You Like’, which calls to mind the likes of Ariana Grande and Selena Gomez, while also laced withPurpose-era Bieber trap production.
The EP closes with the soulful ‘Chasing The Rush’, an anthem destined for festival fields. Featuring a horn section and harmonies, it delivers a huge sound that gives Rita Ora or Jess Glynne a run for their money.
The eclectic Feels EP proves Libby Whitehouse to be a dexterous and exciting new name in UK pop. She is celebrating the release of the EP with her first ever live show and major hometown performance at The Haunt, Brighton on November 13th. Tickets are available via SeeTickets.
