Patricia Lalor releases new single 'Present Tense'

Patricia Lalor has released her new single and cover of Radiohead’s ‘Present Tense’, taken from her forthcoming EP Covers EP1 out October 2nd.

Patricia pays homage to one of her favourite bands with a song perfectly matched to her dreamy delicate vocal and stark guitar. The accompanying video sees Patricia performing the song in the mirror as haunting ethereal effects surround her.

‘Present Tense’ follows the release of Patricia’s cover of The Marias’ ‘I Don’t Know You’ last week, also taken from Covers EP1.

The EP finds the 14 year-old Wexford singer putting her pensive indie touch to some of her favourite songs and biggest musical influences. The record also includes a cover of Alex G’s ‘Change’ and ‘My Kind Of Woman’ by Mac DeMarco.

Patricia has previously treated fans to live versions of ‘I Don’t Know You’ and ‘My Kind Of Woman’ on her YouTube channel, which have almost clocked up 2 million views between them.

Patricia began uploading covers to YouTube age 11 and has gone on to achieve over 153,000 subscribers to her channel. She has caught high profile attention along the way, including the likes of Hozier who found her cover of his song ‘Cherry Wine’ leading him to call it “hands down, one of the best covers I’ve seen”.

2020 has already seen Patricia release two original and highly acclaimed EPs including Do It Again and Sleep Talk, with their evocative vocals and sharp lyrics they have demonstrated a songwriter far ahead of her years.

Patricia crafts hypnotic music, which brings to mind a cross between Billie Eilish, The Big Moon and SOAK, and has been turning the heads of tastemakers since the start of the year picking up support from the likes of The Independent, DIY Magazine, Refinery29, Sunday People, In Stereo Magazine, Hot Press, Irish Tatler and more.
