Patricia Lalor shares new single 'Sleep Talk'

Dublin native Patricia Lalor has shared her single, ‘Sleep Talk’, the first of five tracks to be released over the coming weeks via Friends Don’t Lie Ltd.

A heady dose of euphoric alt-pop, ‘Sleep Talk’ features Patricia’s lush vocals set against a backdrop of immersive synths and danceable beats, and is released alongside its DIY video, which alternates between dreamy projections and Patricia dancing around a cinema.

“This is a song I wrote about a dream I had, hence the name ‘Sleep Talk’”, says Patricia. “For the video we wanted a place where we could use the projector my mum bought, so we rented a room from our local cinema, brought my brother along and filmed some ‘scenes’ with popcorn, skateboards and projectors. It was great! I edited it on good old iMovie, it was glitchy but it did the job. Thanks for listening!”

At just 14 years old, Patricia Lalor’s delicately haunting vocals and sharp lyrics reveal a songwriter far ahead of her years, having started her musical journey singing covers of songs by artists such as Aurora, Girl in Red and Mac De Marco and uploading them to YouTube.

Since uploading her first cover at just 11 years old, she has gained almost 110,000 YouTube subscribers and even received praise from Hozier, who called her cover of ‘Cherry Wine’ “hands down, one of the best covers I’ve ever seen”.

Last year Patricia released her debut single, ‘Regret’, followed by her debut EP Actually. With its incredible follow up, ‘Sleep Talk’, she proves herself as a powerful new talent set to make a big mark.
