Opening with subtle piano and strings set against emotive vocals and touching lyricism, the track builds through passionate verses before ascending into a stunning chorus imbued with emotion and stirring choral crescendos. The track follows the release of the title track of the EP last month – ‘The Bed You Made’ – and her previous single ‘With You’, which is currently on the Radio 2 playlist.
“‘Different Kind Of Love’ is about feeling that you have unique friendship or relationship, where you feel no one understands you like that person,”explains Hannah.“It’s about feeling accepted for being completely you with no compromise."
Throughout The Bed You Made EP, Hannah’s incredible vocal abilities take centre stage amid minimalist musicality, with stripped back and raw production echoing its lyrical content. The result is a moving and timeless collection of tracks that ranges between the uplifting and gloriously cathartic. The EP was co-written with her friends and collaborators Martin Luke Brown, Gabrielle Aplin and Jessica Sharman.
Since the release of her debut EP Meant To Be Kind in 2014 and 2016’s follow-up Mustang, Hannah has proved herself a seriously promising talent, combining stunning vocal abilities – capable of weaving seamlessly between the passionate soulfulness of jazz, the heartbreak and pain of blues and the sweet melodicism of pop – with a flair for emotive songwriting.
With an arsenal of talent and ability combined with her natural emotive flair, 2019 looks set to be the year that Hannah emerges boldly into mainstream awareness.
