rosi remix Adrianne Lenker's 'Forwards Beckon Rebound'

Alternative electronic duo rosi have released a remix of Adrianne Lenker’s ‘Forwards Beckon Rebound’ out now via Bandcamp, Soundcloud and YouTube here.

rosi completely reimagine the delicate acoustic original with future-garage beats, dark melancholic synths and haunting twisted samples of Adrianne’s vocals.

Regarding the remix rosi say, “We’ve been fans of Adrianne Lenker’s music for years. She’s one of the rare artists making music with acoustic instruments that still feels new and exciting to us. The original song has a cyclical, trance-like feeling that we thought might work well in a dance track. We grew up playing in indie bands so it’s important to us that the electronic elements of our own music feel alive and imperfect. That mix is really interesting to us – not knowing where the machine ends and the human begins.”

rosi is a project heavily influenced by historic underground UK dance culture and the alt-indie scene in equal measure, which is further cemented in their take on ‘Forwards Beckon Rebound’.

rosi released their debut single ‘White Light’ earlier this month. The track provides a trance-inducing chaos that reflects an anxious world today while evoking feelings of Portishead, Burial and The xx. Playing as a comfort and warning for our future, the track features haunting hushed vocals, dreamy synths and a subtle house shuffle with breakbeats.

‘White Light’ has been met by great critical support from the likes of The Line Of Best Fit, CRACK Magazine, EUPHORIA, This Song Is Sick, Noctis Magazine, Ones To Watch and many more.

rosi is the project of producer and multi-instrumentalist Chris Petrosino and singer/songwriter Joni Mathews. Originally from New York, the pair are multi-platinum and award-winning musicians behind huge global hits. However 2021 saw the pair relocate to London and embed themselves in the UK, the country that has birthed the sounds pivotal in their musical influences which are the beating heart of their new project rosi.

‘White Light’ is will feature on a wider body of work from the pair. Half dystopian-anxiety and half introspective-alternative electronic, rosi reflects the strange future we walk in.
